My fingers move on their own as I type out a general thank you email to each of the people who sent money to raise funds for the festival.
Nolan didn’t need the money, being rich and all, but he said turning the money away would hurt the feelings of those who wanted to give.
Just as I send the last email and begin gathering my things to go out for lunch, Chloe rushes through the room. I don’t miss the icy sneer she sends my way as she passes my desk to enter Nolan’s office.
At first, I thought Chloe was a kind girl, but now, every time we cross paths, she glares at me. She doesn’t usually speak to me anymore, but when she does, it’s condescending and rude. I know it’s because of what I said about Andy, but with every passing moment, I don’t regret it.
