Roseline’s POV
I pushed open the door of the private room. Adrian's figure sat under the dim light, his features outlined in a mysterious silhouette. His long, slender fingers held a glass of liquor, knuckles sharp and distinct, gently spinning the ice along the rim, producing a crisp clinking sound.
I walked up to him, hesitated for a moment, and finally asked in a low voice, "You said you know who kidnapped me?"
He lifted his eyes, those ink-black pupils unfathomable under the shadowed light. "Yes," he paused, his gaze sharp, "the ones who orchestrated your kidnapping were a biker gang in the city."
My heart immediately sank. "A biker gang?"
"They were just paid to do the job. They didn't really intend to kill you, just to scare you a little." He lifted his glass and took a light sip, continuing, "That's why you only suffered some superficial injuries."
I frowned, my mind full of confusion and doubts. "I don't understand... who did I offend so badly that they'd pay to have me kidnapp
