CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND FORTY NINE: TRAUMATIC
Anna's arrival at the medical care facility marked the beginning of a new chapter in her life, one fraught with uncertainty and fear. As she stepped through the doors, the sterile scent of antiseptic assaulted her senses, triggering a flood of memories and emotions that threatened to overwhelm her fragile psyche. She took a hesitant step forward, her heart pounding in her chest, her palms clammy with sweat.
The nurse at the reception desk greeted her with a warm smile, but Anna couldn't bring herself to return the gesture. Her mind was consumed with thoughts of Jonathan, of Oliver, of the life she was leaving behind. She felt like a stranger in a strange land, adrift in a sea of unfamiliar faces and unfamiliar surroundings.
