Savannah found Zachary's question utterly ridiculous. She had only helped Hendrick because she couldn't bring herself to leave someone in need, no matter who it was—even a stranger. She wanted Hendrick gone as soon as he regained consciousness.
Thus, the moment Hendrick posed that question, Savannah didn't find the need to explain anything to him. "You and I are divorced, Hendrick. It's none of your concern whether I'm dating, in love, or getting remarried. You should get out of my house right now. You're not welcome here."
Having said that, Savannah opened the door.
Hendrick's heart tightened further. He had played out countless possibilities in his mind, but it never occurred to him that Savannah could be this unfeeling, treating him as if he were a total stranger.
