#Chapter 292 – Morning Light
When I wake up, I can tell by the way that the sun shines through the window that the morning is well advanced. My first instinct, of course, is to curl up even tighter in Kent’s arms, to bask in the warmth of his body, to catch just a few more minutes of sleep –
But then I hear my little baby fussing in his bassinet and a huge smile breaks out onto my face.
Because I have a little baby – and he needs me, but he’s warm, and he’s safe, and I just…absolutely love that.
So I uncurl myself from Kent’s side, doing my best not to wake him, and I scurry around the bed – honestly, who put the bassinet on this side – and lift my little boy up into my arms.
“Ohhh, little baby,” I whisper to him as he starts to cry just a little. “It will be all right. Don’t you worry about a thing.”
Shushing softly, I carry Dominic over to my side of the bed and curl up against the pillows, pulling my nightgown down just a little so that I can feed him. My little boy eagerly latches, his sleepy eyes still c
