“You did a great job today,” she finally whispers to me from her seat, still chewing her lip. Her right leg is bouncing faster than I’ve ever seen someone do it almost like she’s about to take off on a race of her own.

“It wasn’t anything I thought it would be,” she continues. “I don’t know, I guess I just expected more crashes. Maybe it’s because movies usually highlight that hindrance of races.”
