Chapter65
Liv’s POV
It was a chilly Sunday evening when Kaelon pulled up to my house, the soft hum of his car engine slowly coming to a stop in front of the curb.
I turned to him, my fingers lingering on the handle of the door. "Thanks for the ride," I said, my voice softer than I intended.
It was strange, feeling this warm tug in my chest every time I looked at him, especially after everything we had shared this weekend.
It had been one of those weekends that made me forget the world outside, but now, it was time to face the reality of the coming workweek.
Kaelon gave me a small smile, his dark eyes unreadable as usual. "Of course," he replied, though his voice had a warmth to it that made my heart skip.
He leaned over the console, a familiar gesture, his lips brushing my cheek in a quick, almost imperceptible kiss. It wasn’t just a goodbye.
It felt like something more, something that stirred inside me, begging me to say what had been lingering on the tip of my tongue all weekend.
I love you, K
