After signing the contract, Catherine headed straight to the financial company. Everyone there politely called her “President Sawyer,” and as she settled into the CEO's office, she soaked in the feeling of being at the top.
William had temporarily assigned his own assistant to help her out. Catherine, riding high, strutted around like she ran the place, lecturing the senior staff without holding back.
For an entire month, Catherine stayed in the company, sitting comfortably in the middle of awe and resentment as employees side-eyed her with a mix of fear and dislike. But when she saw the monthly profits, she couldn't sleep a wink that night—it was like she was lying on a pile of gold.
“Will, did you see the company's profits?” Catherine dialed William's number, her tone sweet and smug, practically dripping with pride.
William glanced at his assistant, who had just finished giving a report, and gave a cold smirk. “Yeah, saw it. You did well.”
