CHAPTER 314: DATE NIGHT
Lauretta and Ryan headed to a fancy restaurant downtown. They spent the next few hours lost in conversation, laughter, and getting to know each other better.
Lauretta was surprised by how much they had in common; she was happy that she had at least given him a chance.
"Are you enjoying your meal?" Ryan asked
"Of course, the food is perfect," Lauretta said with a smile.
Beneath her smile, she thought about George and his confession. She prayed daily for George to say those words to her in the past, but he never did. He decided to tell her when she was away from him and was finally moving on.
The waiter arrived and took away their empty dishes, replacing them with ice cream cakes.
"I didn't know you liked chocolate." Ryan's eyes crinkled at the corners as he smiled.
