CHAPTER THIRTY

Ruby felt a force push her forward, her right hand was raised and for a split second, she watched Hestia’s face contort from realization to fear. But Ruby didn’t bulge or stop the feeling that enveloped her until her palm stung from contact with Hestia’s face. The room fell silent for a second. Ruby watched Hestia with a contented feeling. Hestia remained wide-eyed for an instant before her hand shot up to touch the side of her face which Ruby had slapped. The surprise in her face changed to anger she growled at Ruby. Her eyes changed color for a second as her wolf made an appearance. Ruby remained unfazed by the look on Hestia’s face. She didn’t understand what she was feeling. Her reaction felt foreign and she didn’t think she had it in her. Hestia who had recovered from the slap-induced shock lunged at Ruby. “How dare you!” Her voice thundered and her hand was raised, an action which meant she wanted to reciprocate the slap. Ruby finally had a sense of her emotion and recoiled,
