Chapter 164
On the way to the hospital, Evelyn sat silently, her expression dark and unreadable.
Julian noticed her mood and gently held her hand, quietly trying to comfort her.
"I'm fine," Evelyn turned to him, meeting his worried eyes.
She forced a small smile, but everything that had just happened kept replaying in her head.
Who pushed her?
Julian kept his gaze on her strained expression.
He seemed like he wanted to say something but ended up keeping quiet.
Meanwhile, Isabella got a call from Timothy. She spoke in a hushed voice for a moment before hanging up.
"Brandon's been taken to the station," she told Evelyn. "You weren't wrong—he was definitely using."
Turns out, Brandon was a long-time addict, managing to hide it pretty well, though he did have a record.
But as for the stolen item in the hotel—it had nothing to do with him.
Apparently, one of the male guests had a mountain of gambling debt and sold the watch, which was actually a gift from his girlfriend.
Scared she'd find out and leave
