Sebastian woke up around 2 p.m.
At that point, pretty much everyone—including Alexandra—was gathered around his bed.
When he found out the bleeding in his brain had caused temporary blindness, Sebastian stayed calm. Almost too calm.
Evelyn couldn't help but worry.
Right now, she was holding onto Julian's arm as they walked out of Sebastian's hospital room, getting ready to leave the research institute.
The flight back to the Hayes family's place was in the evening.
They had mainly come for the engagement party—to make sure Evelyn had some backup. With George and Amelia now out of the picture, their mission was basically accomplished.
As they walked back, Evelyn turned and looked at Julian. "Don't you think Sebastian's being a little too calm?"
She was still uneasy.
Julian glanced at her back and chuckled. "That's just how he is. Always composed, never flustered. Honestly, this is what I'd expect from him."
Evelyn paused. Was it really, though?
