It was still dark when Evelyn Knight opened her eyes.
Sleep wasn’t even an option — she’d spent the whole night tossing in bed, her mind stuck on Julian Everett.
Eventually, she gave up, climbed out of bed, threw on some workout gear, and went out for a run.
She had to stay sharp. If she let herself slow down for even a second, those overwhelming thoughts about Julian would come flooding in.
