Chapter 34: Make Your Death Look Like An Accident
Though Christina hadn't had much experience with friends in her previous life, she had always yearned for genuine companionship. Now that she had Nora, she truly began to understand the essence of friendship. The argument that morning had left Christina in a terrible mood. After spending the entire day like a jitterbug, she finally heaved a sigh of relief as she left the company. Not wanting to waste time on the subway or buses, she hailed a cab and headed straight to the hotel where Nora worked. When Nora hadn't called her all day, Christina became increasingly restless.
Over the past few years, it had never happened before. Nora always called Christina at least once a day, no matter how busy she was. But today, she hadn’t, and Christina felt hurt. But knowing it was her own fault, she couldn't bring herself to be angry with Nora.
Entering the grand lobby of the hotel, Christina approached the reception and inquired, "I'm looking for Nora Cartwright, your general manager."
