Chapter 57
The look in Sabrina's eyes was different from usual. She stared at Conner like she was trying to read his mind.
Conner noticed something off with Sabrina, so he stopped peeling the apple and looked up at her. "What's wrong? Did you hurt your hand just now?"
Then, he stood up and peeled the blanket off Sabrina to look for any trace of an injury on her hand. He didn't find a single wound.
Conner looked down at Sabrina's uneasy expression and asked in a concerned tone, "Are you not feeling well?"
After a short pause, Sabrina threw herself into Conner's arms. "That's right. I'm not feeling well. I missed you the whole night. You took so long to get here."
Conner chuckled at how adorable Sabrina was being and patted her head. "Be good, now. I was just busy with work."
Sabrina burrowed herself deeper into Conner's embrace and pouted sweetly. "Is work more important than me?"
Conner looked down and met Sabrina's gaze. He smiled. "Of course not. You're my highest priority right now."
