This pen was something Henry accidentally left behind with her after the funeral. He had come by with a share transfer agreement in hand, written in black and white-it said he'd hand over his last 2% of Hawkins Corporation to Bellamy, hoping she'd let his sister, Sophia, live her own life.
Bellamy didn't sign it. She didn't take that tiny bit of stock either. But she also didn't say out loud she'd let it go.
Truth was, even if Henry hadn't shown up, she'd already made up her mind.
Right at Joseph's burial, the decision was already clear to her.
"Fraser, let the Hawkins siblings be. No need to make things harder for them."
Bellamy's voice was soft as she turned the pen between her fingers, eyes not lifting to look at him.
Fraser wasn't the least bit surprised by the sudden request.
He knew her too well. That cold edge people talked about? Surface-level stuff.
