With a werewolf's keen hearing, there was no way any of the team members could have missed Master Kevin's careless outburst. His words hung in the cold air, sharp and heavy. However, the seasoned members of the team, well-versed in political delicacies, acted as though they had heard nothing. They busied themselves with packing up the scattered equipment, their faces blank as if Kevin's words had vanished into the mountain wind.
Realizing his mistake, Kevin opened his mouth to speak, only to snap it shut when Master Mary turned to him with a glare that could silence thunder.
Mary approached me, but before she could utter a word, I interjected, “It’s fine, Master Mary. This isn’t the time for explanations or discussions. Let’s focus on returning to safety first.”
