To confirm my growing suspicion, I needed answers to a few critical questions. “When these humans appeared, what condition were they in? Were they panting, like they’d just walked a long distance, or were they calm and relaxed?”
“They were panting,” Dorothy replied immediately. “Everyone looked exhausted. You could tell their steps were heavy, and their limbs seemed weak. They had clearly been through a long journey.”
“Did any of them glance back at where they came from? Or show any expressions of surprise, excitement, or disbelief?”
