Chapter 303: A Meeting with the Past
**Thelma Zane’s POV**
It was almost sunset when Aldrich and I finally left the quiet comfort of our bedroom. A gnawing hunger reminded me that I hadn’t eaten all day. As serene as the chambers were, they lacked the presence of attendants. With no one around to cater to us, I knew I had to seek out food myself.
As I rounded the corner of the corridor, I spotted Kara, my trusted aide, deep in conversation with several servants in the grand hall. She was partially engrossed in checking some accounts when she caught sight of me. Upon noticing my presence, she paused her work and gestured for the servants to fetch some food for me.
“Congratulations on your marriage, Your Highness,” she said with a polite bow. Her tone, as always, was formal, but her smile carried warmth. “Tradition allows for the first three days after the wedding to be a holiday for the newlyweds. During this period, neither you nor Sir Aldrich are expected to perform any duties. Leave everything to us.”
