I genuinely planned to leave no stone unturned on Monday if that was what it took to identify the traitor. What I didn't expect was that the very next day, I received a call from upper management at the company.
"Zara, the investors pulled out because of that news about Isabel. We can't even pay the salaries now. We're really sorry, but you don't need to come in to work anymore."
I stood still, gripping the phone for a long time in a daze.
