Chapter 200
Lucien
Day Two
It had been two days since my little wolf fell asleep.
I checked on her constantly. Yesterday, her entire body had been burning as if it were about to burst, and the sight of it had sent me into a panic I hadn’t felt in years. I summoned the physician to examine her, desperate for answers, but even she couldn’t diagnose what was wrong. All she could suggest was wiping her body with a cold towel to help bring down her temperature.
So I did.
Once. Twice. Six times—maybe seven. I had lost count.
Every time her temperature rose abnormally, I wiped her down again. I didn’t allow anyone inside the room.
Not even the children.
Now, two days later, her condition has improved slightly. She was still hot, still running a fever, but it was no longer like yesterday—when her body felt as though it were boiling beneath my hands.
My gaze settled on her sleeping figure. Her face was serene, peaceful, completely unaware that her body was still burning… or that her Alpha was worried sick
