I hurriedly took out the dagger from my pocket—a weapon Lucien had forced me to carry with me. I never thought I'd need it so soon, but now it had come into use. The dagger in my hand felt heavier than ever—it would have been fine if I were alone, but other lives depended on me, and I couldn't afford to gamble with them.
I struck at the rogue the moment he approached, refusing to hesitate. My arm shook from the force as steel clashed against steel, sparks spitting into the air. My body screamed from the lingering ache of the broken bond. Every nerve was still raw, but I held my ground.
"I said run! Hurry!" I shouted at the Omegas huddled behind me. Their wide eyes were locked on the fight, fear rooting them to the spot.
