Chapter 942
Since the last incident, Ken had abandoned his work to avoid hostility.
Therefore, on the day Olivia was discharged from the hospital, Zac sent Wilbur to pick her up.
However, Olivia had packed her luggage and waited alone in the room before Wilbur arrived.
"Pheebs."
She looked up and was a little shocked. "Why are you here?"
"I'm here to pick you up."
"Zac has sent someone to pick me up."
Olivia wanted to get away with it. She did not expect Xavier to walk over and grab her hand, asking, "Pheebs, have you considered leaving?"
"Leaving?"
"Yeah, you and Zac are getting a divorce. It's pointless to stay here anyway. Why don't you leave with me? You can continue running a jewelry design studio. I can fund you to open a few more stores. Besides, Lyla was born abroad and is more used to life abroad, isn't she?"
Seeing that Olivia was silent, Xavier continued saying, "If you're still worried about your brother, we can leave after he recovers. I can afford to wait."
Olivia paused and pulled out her hand. "Xavier, I... I never thought of leaving."
"Pheebs, you don't really like John, do you?"
"What?" Olivia widened her eyes and quickly shook her head to deny it, saying, "Of course not."
"Then why don't you want to leave? There's nothing for you to miss here. Isn't it better to leave here? If you leave, no one will call you a substitute again."
"I..."
Everyone she cared about was in Ocean City, so where else did she need to go?
Besides, she was Olivia Larson, so she did not care about being called a substitute.
However, she could not tell Xavier that she was the one who died four years ago, could she...
She was thinking about it when she was suddenly pulled into someone's arms. Then she heard a deep yet grim voice overhead. "She said she didn't want to go with you. Why are you forcing her? Do you really like her, or do you just want her? If you love her, you should respect her choice."
Olivia looked up. Her heart trembled for some reason when John spoke so righteously.
He was starting to learn about respect.
Who was the person who respected her the least? Was it not him?
She suddenly recalled what Ken had said. "He's changed a lot. Why don't you try being friends first?"
Perhaps he had changed.
John looked down at her. "Ignore him. The next time he lays his hands on you, call the police."
With that said, he yanked her outside.
"What are you doing?"
"Picking you up."
Olivia shook his hand away. "Wilbur will be here any minute. Go home."
John frowned, slightly upset. "Call Wilbur and tell him not to come."
"John, you just said you'd respect my choice, and now you're being bossy. You haven't changed at all!"
Olivia glared at him. She had been imagining for nothing.
She knew it. How could John have changed?
A leopard could not change its spots.
John opened his mouth to defend himself, but Xavier beat him to it.
"You're good at lecturing me, but aren't you the same?"
John glared at him. "You have no right to criticize me."
"You criticized me first."
The two bickered again, giving Olivia a headache.
"Go away, both of you!"
Olivia could not help snapping, "Wilbur's already downstairs. I don't need a ride."
Their expressions changed. They were about to give up, but Olivia ignored them and walked around them with her luggage.
