Chapter 944
Olivia's face darkened when she saw them. "Why are you here?"
"We came to celebrate your discharge."
The two said at the same time.
The atmosphere in the room was so awkward that Olivia immediately wanted to return to the hospital.
If she had known this would happen, she would have snuck out in the middle of the night.
Those who knew were here to celebrate; those who had no idea would think they were here to fight.
Most importantly, she did not think they did it for her. It was only two childish fools, who had found each other's match and wanted to see who was more childish.
Just then, Lyla suddenly looked up at the three men and asked, "Mommy, are you going to choose one of these three uncles to be my father?"
Once she said that, Olivia saw the three men's eyes light up. Though they said nothing, every cell in their bodies was saying, "Pick me. Pick me."
Olivia quickly covered Lyla's mouth and said sternly, "Shut up and help Mrs. Simmons in the kitchen."
To prevent Lyla from making another outrageous statement, she motioned to Sam. "Sam, take your sister inside and help. Help Mrs. Simmons out."
Sam nodded obediently and dragged Lyla away.
Seeing that Lyla was still trying to speak, he put a hand over her mouth. "Say nothing. Follow me inside."
When the kids were gone, Olivia pointed outside. "Go outside to talk so that the children can't hear."
The three could only follow obediently.
Zac wanted to leave, but his reluctance was rekindled when Xavier and John arrived.
Even if he quit, he did not want Xavier to get away with it, so he wanted to stay and keep an eye on Xavier.
"If I find out any of you have been secretly contacting Lyla and trying to brainwash Lyla, I won't let you go!"
As she spoke, Olivia glared at John and said pointedly, "Especially you!"
"I'm not going to do that."
Olivia snorted coldly. "If you want to enjoy this meal, don't fight and play games with me. If anyone mentions the word "Father" in front of Lyla again, I'll show him the door!"
Once she finished speaking, she glanced fiercely at them as if afraid she was not intimidating enough. "Never underestimate a mother's potential or push her boundaries! Got it?"
All three nodded in unison as they dared not say anything more. "Got it."
She was relieved to see that the three were well-behaved. "Get in."
Although she agreed, she felt resistant.
One was already tiring enough. She had no idea if she would flip the table while eating when she had to handle three...
Most importantly, Lyla.
She was worried about someone blurting out inadvertently and making Lyla overthink.
She understood Lyla's longing for her father, but now was not the time to tell her the truth.
She was thinking about it when a familiar voice came from behind him.
"Liv."
She thought it was Fred at first, but Fred was still in the hospital. She just saw him this morning. Did he...
Her heartbeat raced as she looked around in panic. Her eyes instantly widened at the sight of him, and she ran to him in surprise and hugged him. "Ian! Why are you here?"
Ian held up his fruit basket. "I know you got discharged from the hospital, so I came to visit. Am I not welcome?"
"No way. Mrs. Simmons made a lot of good food. You..."
Olivia had dragged him halfway before she remembered her intruders and stopped dead in her tracks.
"Liv? What's wrong?"
Once Ian finished asking, Xavier walked out and asked in confusion, "Pheebs, you have a brother. Why didn't you mention that before?"
