Chapter 950
Olivia then rested at home for two days. She planned to take the two children out to buy some clothes and toys while the weather was good.
She did not expect to see Xavier and John standing at the door like two statues when she opened the door.
"What... What are you two doing here?"
Before they could answer, Lyla happily took their hands. "Mommy, I invited them here. I even invited Uncle Zac, but he refused because he's not free."
Olivia, "..."
Seeing something was wrong, Sam rushed over and took Lyla's hand. "Lyla, you've got something dirty near your mouth. Come in with me and wash your face."
Lyla touched her face as she walked. "There's nothing on my face. Didn't you just wash it for me, Mommy?"
"When I say there's something, there's something."
When the kids were gone, Olivia folded her arms in front of her chest and scanned them from top to bottom. "Did Lyla really ask you to come? You didn't trick her?"
John took out his phone and played a recording, where they could hear the whole story.
Olivia raised her eyebrows and looked at Xavier. "What about you?"
"I... I didn't record it, but Lyla did invite me over."
"Really?"
Olivia glanced at Wes standing by the roadside and said coldly, "You two don't have to tag along."
"Huh?"
"But I do lack a driver, so ask Wes to stay and drive us."
Xavier was reluctant. "Pheebs, I can be a driver too."
"Xavier, I only want to shop with my kids alone. Got it?"
With that said, she shouted into the room. "Sam and Lyla, let's go."
Sam soon walked out, holding Lyla's hand.
"Sam, bring Lyla into the car."
"Okay."
When they passed by the two men, she stopped and warned, "Don't follow us!"
"Pheebs, how could you?"
Olivia rolled her eyes at Xavier. "Why are you so free? Don't you need to go to work?"
Then she got into the car.
She was self-aware. She knew these two men had hidden agendas. There was no way they did all this for her. They must be after something else.
"Mommy, why aren't they joining us?"
"They need to go to work. They don't have the time."
Speaking of work, she suddenly recalled someone else, so she called Elaine.
"How's it going with the company lately?"
"It's doing pretty good. Mr. Quinton's back and has no objections to the results, but... we have some issues with Fabian." With that said, Elained paused. "But Mr. Zac says he can let bygones be bygones by giving Fabian a position as long as he's willing to continue working for Quinton Group."
"What did Fabian say?"
"What else could Fabian say? Yes, of course. After all, that b*tch Dorothy ruined his reputation."
Elaine suddenly asked, "I heard Dorothy has been locked up in a mental hospital. I don't think she's going to serve any jail time. How lucky. I've heard so much about her these last few days. What an insane lunatic!"
Hearing Elaine mention Dorothy, Olivia's hand trembled for some reason.
Even though it was over, the memory of that woman still made her teeth tingle in hatred.
"Mr. Quinton didn't give Zac a hard time, did he?"
"No, I saw them dining together today." Elaine was confused. "Why don't you ask Mr. Zac? Won't you get a more direct answer that way?"
Olivia pressed her lips together and said with a smile, "He wouldn't say much about the company, so I can only ask you."
"That's natural. After all, there have been some big mouths in the company saying he got to the top because of a woman after that incident. He must want you out of it."
After hanging up, Olivia took a deep breath.
Now that things were stable, it was time to give them back their shares.
