"That friend of mine had her own dreams," Diana continued, her eyes glowing with admiration. "She wanted to write travel blogs. Eventually, she built a hugely successful public account with millions of loyal followers. Fortunately, she made it big."
"How have I never known this?" Cassandra thought.
Before, Aidan had kept her distant from company affairs. He'd protected her like a delicate flower in an ivory tower, making her believe she was content. She had been trapped in the comfortable illusion he created for her.
And because of that, she'd been completely unaware of the unspoken rules that ruled the industry.
"Honestly, I know where I stand," Diana said. "I just wanted you to take a look. It's not like my designs are anything special… But if they ever do catch your attention, I'd want it to be because you genuinely saw something in them."
Diana wasn't confident in her work, but when it came to honest feedback, she didn't know who else to turn to besides Cassandra.
