I had long grown numb to such reactions from Simon.
None of the rules he imposed on me were ever applied to Tiffany, and it wasn't until I saw what it looked like when he truly loved someone that I realized—he never loved me at all.
In fact, he didn't even show me the basic empathy he would give a stranger.
Before I could speak, Simon looked at me with disappointment and said, "It's good that you were the one to bring this up. I've been wanting to say it too. We're no longer in the same league, and you're no longer good enough for me.
"I tolerated you only because of what you did for me in the past. But now, you've grown arrogant just because I used to pamper you. I'm done with putting myself through this.
"Get out. Get out of my house right now!"
The more Simon spoke, the more agitated he became. He even actually tried to throw me out of the house.
I let out a cold laugh, not indulging in his tantrum at all. "This is my house. If anyone's leaving, it's you," I said bluntly.
