Racing back to the Neale residence, Lorraine spotted several grimy nylon bags piled up by the front gate from a distance.
From across the yard, she immediately recognized the figure, even with her back turned. It was Eleanor.
Lucy was tussling with her, and the moment she saw Lorraine arrive, it was like spotting a lifeline. "Ms. Neale, she keeps trying to force her way inside! I warned her, but she wouldn't listen!"
Lucy's face was flushed with anger. The Neales weren't running a public bazaar, so why did every random troublemaker think they could show up?
Lorraine's brow tightened. She knew that Eleanor was even harder to deal with than Ambrose himself.
In her past life, she'd taken plenty of hits from Eleanor before. The woman might not have gotten a proper education, but when it came to insults, she was a learned master. She could unleash a torrent of vicious curses for hours without pause.
