Seeing that Justin didn't say anything, Lorraine couldn't help muttering, "Typical man."
She pulled out her phone and opened a food delivery app. There were all kinds of options, but none of them were what she actually wanted. She found herself missing Lucy's cooking.
She sighed. Just as she was thinking about calling Lucy, Justin came back. He was carrying a takeout bag, and a faint, pleasant aroma drifted from it.
Her nose twitched in surprise, and she pushed herself upright. It was from her favorite diner.
"Isn't this place usually closed by this hour?" she asked casually as she adjusted the tray table herself.
Whenever she got hungry late at night, she always craved a simple bowl of their noodles, but the shop would close at 8:00 pm.
Justin unpacked the food and neatly arranged it in front of her. "I got lucky. They had one last portion left when I got there."
He sat across from her, watching as she picked up the spoon and took small, careful sips. It was her favorite chicke
