It was afternoon when Jamie left the hospital. He was about to drive home when he received a call from the school. The results of his promotion application had been released. In the past five years, Olivia had created a vast network of connections for him. Even when she was pregnant, she would bring him along to meet clients whenever she had any spare time. Drinking herself sick until she had to be admitted into the hospital had turned into a common occurrence. Everything she had done and all the connections she had established had led to this day, which was five years in the making. Jamie had successfully become a full-fledged professor.
