Chantelle had only mentioned giving Janet a home—she hadn't said anything about wanting to marry Terence. Their marriage would exist for one reason only, and that was to shield Janet from the scandal surrounding her parentage.
A sharp ache spread through Terence's chest, and his gaze became tinged with sorrow.
