Chapter 1107
As Suzanne glanced toward the door, she spotted Lana standing just outside. At her feet was a shattered vase. She must have accidentally knocked it over. At a glance, Suzanne could tell the vase was worth at least a million dollars.
Unfortunately, it now lay in pieces. From the look on Gordon's face, it was clear the loss hurt him deeply.
Lana quickly stepped forward, her eyes wide with regret. "I'm sorry, Dad. I didn't mean to."
Gordon's irritation flared, but with Suzanne present, he forced himself to stay composed. He met Lana's gaze and said in a low, strained voice, "You never watch your step, do you? Come here."
It was more a restrained rebuke than an outburst.
Lana obediently walked over and stood in front of him.
Gordon glared at her sharply and snapped, "Why are you just standing there? Aren't you going to greet our guests?"
Today, Lana was surprisingly well-behaved. She seemed to have forgotten the bitterness she once held toward Suzanne.
With a nod, she said politely
