Chapter 549

On the way back to Starview Villa, Austin drove while Suzanne sat quietly, gazing out the car window. Only soft music playing gently in the background could be heard. Austin glanced at Suzanne and said in a low voice, "I'm sorry about what happened tonight." He had put her in an awkward position in front of so many people, so he could understand why she might be feeling down. Suzanne turned to look at him and said, "Why are you apologizing? I'm not even upset." Austin looked at her, a bit uncertain. "Really?" His response made Suzanne chuckle. She leaned over and lightly pinched his earlobe. "Mr. Hall, I'm starting to think you're really charming." He had publicly acknowledged her identity in front of so many people that night. Though Suzanne had never craved such declarations and preferred to let things happen naturally, she felt moved when Austin actually did it. Being complimented so directly made Austin's ears turn red, but he kept his composure and replied faintly, "Mmm."
