《Avery's POV》
I scrolled through the newsletter, my eyes not missing any words and a satisfied smirk dancing on my lips.
Today, I woke up to the most satisfying news ever. Who knew the paparazzi would one day be useful? They unknowingly helped me out and now, I don't have to deal with news about the engagement anymore.
This is enough to turn the public's opinions on the matter.
"Are you sure about this?" Lydia's low voice echoed in my head. My finger paused and I stared blankly at nothing in particular.
"Yes.." I whispered without thinking too much.
"We should have cut ties a long time ago but I still kept hoping things would be different. I can't keep living like this, we can't keep being the second choice." I muttered with finality.
"Okay.." Her tone was somber and mournful. I could feel it.. even though she was hurting, Lydia agreed with me.
