Chapter 88
I stared at Marcus silently, waiting for him to burst out laughing like always. I mean, it sounded too good to be true.
I knew he was into business and had already made a huge name for himself there but I never expected him to be in too deep.
Then again, the more I thought about it, the more it made sense to me. The way the manager was overly familiar with him; she mentioned he was visiting again and how fast it was for him to make this big of a reservation for us.
I swallowed hard when the realization dawned on me;
"Really?" I asked again; just to be sure.
"Have I ever lied to you Ave?" He asked back and I couldn't help but listen to his claims.
I heard his soft chuckle echoing in the almost empty hall. It got nearer, then I felt his warm palm on mine.
"You don't need to think too much about it; afterall, we aren't here to talk about my business." He muttered as he pulled me towards the table close to the huge window.
