The next afternoon.
Elsie didn’t have any bookings, so Troy Mitchell dragged her out for a bit of shopping.
Troy had just bought a bag of oranges and was dead set on getting her hands on the newly released blind boxes, so with her hands full, Elsie had to carry the oranges for her.
Out of nowhere, someone bumped into Elsie, and the oranges spilled everywhere, rolling across the floor. Someone walking by almost stepped right on them.
A couple rolled close to Elsie's feet. She quickly bent down, picked them up, and handed them to the person.
The man reached out to take them, and her gaze happened to land on his right hand.
It was the hand of a middle-aged man—smooth, clean, not a callus in sight. He looked well taken care of, probably a rich guy who grew up like William—spoiled since birth.
