Chapter 38
After hearing Sophia’s dramatic version of the story, Elsie didn’t say a word about Olivia making money by selling her photos.
Though Olivia could be loud and a bit over-the-top, she wasn’t careless. She had plenty of Elsie’s pictures on her phone, but nothing overly revealing—just in case she ever lost her phone and Elsie ended up trending for all the wrong reasons.
William’s weird behavior lately suddenly made sense. Staring out the window, Elsie started to worry: after the waiting period, would they even manage to get that divorce certificate?
Olivia frowned. “I don’t know what got into him today. He actually went and did something that’s all loss, no gain.”
Sophia rubbed her chin, thinking out loud. “Don’t you think he’s been acting kinda strange around Elsie lately?”
Resting her head on her hand, Elsie said out of nowhere, “He told me today that he loves me.”
