Amara didn’t immediately drive off. She sat in the parking lot of Royals, blankly staring at her reflection through the rare view mirror and waiting for the moment that it would happen.
The moment the guilt would course through her and her face would morph up in a regretful expression.
However, no matter how much time she gave it, the emotions didn’t come.
Instead, what replaced the guilt was relief, and even though that had been the main goal, the thought of the other feelings made her feel a bit guilty, and not necessarily because of her actions, but because she felt like she had used and dumbed Elijah and when she dumped him, she didn’t even feel the slightest form of guilt.
Rather, it felt like she had made a good decision, the right decision that she should have done since a very long while ago and that made her feel guilty.
But the guilt wasn’t strong, and neither did it bother her too much, but, she couldn’t shake the feeling away.
