"She just hasn't realized how great of a partner I can be," Jebediah tried to reason with Perseus. Perseus chuckled before shaking his head in resignation. Jebediah was beyond help. Upon thinking about it, he supposed it was normal for a bootlicker to justify their actions. "Suit yourself." Perseus gave him a dismissive wave. "Just remember to never threaten me or boss me around ever again. I'm a bodyguard, not a maid." He continued, "I don't care if you're a bootlicker, but don't get on my nerves." Subsequently, he turned around and began to walk back to his tent. He used to feel indifferent toward Jebediah, but after everything that happened, he grew to dislike him. Hell—he might've even said he hated him. Even if someone was book smart, they wouldn't be very successful in life if they lacked self-awareness. Unfortunately, Jebediah seemed to be one of those people. Perseus felt bad for Grant. Even though he was in his seventies, he still devoted himself to helping his student
