Chapter 2489
Lavender held out her watch to Perseus, letting him know that they had already been underwater for 20 minutes.
Perseus hummed and nodded to Lavender. Though he was reluctant, he knew they had to retreat for the time being; aside from the enormous turtle, there was also a massive, pitch-black, horned sea serpent hidden in the depths—one whose true power no one had yet seen.
They returned the way they came, thankfully uneventfully. They didn't encounter the horned sea serpent, and they still didn't encounter any marine life in the water, not even the tiniest shrimp. It was truly like a dead sea, utterly devoid of anything but the tinted, reeking seawater.
Having arrived on shore, Perseus didn't bother stripping off his gear. He just ripped off his mask and growled, "Damn it! What a waste of a night, with not a single thing to show for it!"
