Perseus was speechless. He had half a mind to slap Nancy right then and there. What did she mean by wanting to die with him? Things weren't nearly that desperate yet.
He didn't have a way to save everyone from the gunfire, but the two of them certainly weren't going to die here.
"What a touching scene. My dear Perseus, I'm starting to feel a little jealous."
Lorenzo drew a pistol, flicked the safety off, and smiled. "But this isn't the time for romance."
With a deafening bang, another victim hanging from the overhead beam had his head blown apart.
"Go, now!" Perseus shoved Nancy out of the church.
"My dear Perseus, I knew you were smart and sensible. I enjoy working with people like you."
A cruel, satisfied grin spread across Lorenzo's face. He motioned for his men to hand Perseus a pen and paper.
"You know what you have to do."
"It's too troublesome to write everything down. Just prepare the materials so I can extract the steroid tonic for you now," Perseus said.
