Chapter 82
"Pack light," Theo said Friday morning, his voice carrying that mysterious edge that meant he was planning something. "We're leaving straight from the office."
I looked up from my computer, eyebrow raised. "Leaving for where?"
"You'll see." That maddening smile played at the corners of his mouth—the one that meant he had no intention of giving me any more information, no matter how much I pleaded.
By five o'clock, I was practically vibrating with curiosity. Theo emerged from his office with a small overnight bag and that same secretive expression, gesturing for me to follow him to the private elevator.
"Seriously, where are we going?" I tried again as we descended to the parking garage.
"Patience, little wolf," he murmured, his hand finding the small of my back as he guided me toward his car. "Trust me."
