Logan stood frozen in place, his expression stiff and ugly. Anger radiated off him in waves as he glared at Vivian.
She merely smiled back, calm and unflinching, unrepentant. "If you're really that hungry, you can always eat out. I'm sure the breakfast places outside have more variety than what I can offer here."
The mockery in her voice was unmistakable. His face turned cold in an instant. "After all these years together, you don't even have this much trust in me?"
Vivian met Logan's gaze. His expression was icy, his eyes free of guilt, as though everything she said was a personal insult and a false accusation. She almost wanted to applaud his audacity.
"I fired her and explained everything to you. How long are you going to keep this up?"
She watched him with the cool scrutiny of someone sizing up a criminal. It only fueled his rage.
