Olivia snapped out of it. "Huh? Oh, it’s nothing. Diana, Edith, I’m heading out now. Don’t forget the beef, okay?"
She got up from the couch and made a beeline for the door, clearly in a rush to escape before they could start grilling her.
Diana watched her leave with a worried look on her face.
Frank came out of the kitchen, carrying a plate of watermelon, trying to calm her down. “Don’t stress yourself out.”
“I heard what Liv said—she pretty much spelled it out. Claire’s being picked on by Julian’s mom again!” Diana’s voice was full of frustration. “She just doesn’t listen. She already went through that mess with the Bennetts, and now she’s doing it again with the Archers.”
“She’s not out looking for trouble,” Frank said patiently. “She’s just found someone she cares about, and it just happens to come with a ton of complications. Try looking at it like that.”
