Lucas was instantly pissed off.
"…You’re actually thinking of staying? Come on, wake up. Julian and I aren’t all that different, stop romanticizing him. And trust me, Mrs. Archer isn’t any more generous than my mom!"
Claire’s head started throbbing from all his yelling.
She hung up and shot him a text: Don’t forget tomorrow morning.
Lucas, fuming, chucked his phone onto the desk.
He leaned back in his chair, yanked his tie loose in frustration, his brows knotted tight like a storm was brewing behind his eyes.
