Brandon looked like he hadn’t fully shaken off the killing vibe, but when they called out to him, he visibly relaxed. “I’m fine,” he said.
Lillian pointed nervously at the blood on him. “Then what about all this?”
“It’s someone else’s,” Brandon answered coolly.
“Thank God,” Lillian let out a breath, patting her chest in relief.
Claire stared at all that blood on him and couldn’t help asking, “Where’s Logan and Bruce? Are they okay?”
They had gone with him to rescue someone and then handled the cleanup. And after hearing from Daniel that the captives didn’t make it, her mind had already wandered in that direction.
Brandon’s expression darkened slightly, though he still spoke in a casual tone. “Not too bad. Logan’s hurt, but nothing fatal. He’ll just need time to recover.”
