Julian’s smirk deepened. “Bit late for an epiphany, don’t you think?”
Daniel Allen gave a helpless shrug and chuckled, casual as ever. “More than late. Honestly, if hell existed, when they all reunite down there, his family should tear him apart piece by piece. Wouldn’t even be over the line.”
Julian asked flatly, “Why give him a chance at redemption?”
Daniel fell silent. Man, Julian was as cold-blooded as always.
Their conversation about the Morgans and Allens continued, while Claire sat nearby, listening… barely keeping up.
She didn’t know much about Smokefall or the Allen family. All she really knew was that the Allens ranked at the top here.
Hard to believe Mrs. Morgan had ties that reached this far.
