It was then that Leticia realized that Samuel seemed to be pursuing her.
She had once harbored feelings for Samuel. It might have seemed like a few days to others, but for Leticia, her feelings for Samuel felt like a distant past.
She glanced at the message Samuel had sent her, then turned her phone off without a word.
Abigail, who was right beside her, exclaimed, "Aren't you interested in him? Why are you ignoring him?"
"I'm not ready to be involved with anyone right now. I'm not willing to risk getting hurt," Leticia murmured. She was afraid of putting her heart on the line again, only to have it shattered and left bleeding.
It was no longer the mission world, and she no longer had life-or-death missions that needed to be completed. It simply wasn't in Leticia's nature to risk it all for a love that would probably never materialize.
Abigail was naturally unaware of Leticia's turmoil.
