Santiago sat at the round polished table in the grand hall, the low hum of conversation and the faint clink of crystal glasses filled the air.
Around him were his businessmen who also raised their wine glasses to make a toast to their newest achievement.
He leaned back slightly in his chair, one hand resting on the stem of his glass, the other drumming lightly against the table as he listened.
He smiled when he had to, but barely joined in the conversation the others had.
“I was convinced you would pull through this deal,” Mr. Jones complimented him again.
“Thank you, Mr. Jones. You all made it happen, what would I have done without my board of directors,” his smile broadened but the men waved off his words.
“You don’t have to thank us. It was for the benefit of all,” Mr. Richardson, who had been enjoying the glass of wine chipped in as he went on to drown the remnants of his glass.
“But… I don’t see your father, Mr. Serrano anywhere, where is he?” Mr. Jones asked, looking aroun
