"It's a little bitter going down, but there's a sweetness that lingers," I replied, giving a fair assessment.
"I think life is just like this drink—bitter first, then sweet," she said with a thoughtful smile.
I actually agreed with her, and we started chatting casually. Most of the conversation was me explaining some basics of design and sharing a bit of my experience.
We only talked for maybe ten or 15 minutes, and I had just one cup of her drink during that time. But what really surprised me was how sober I suddenly felt.
